My Completely Awful and Backwards Day
It all started this morning when I was half asleep. Yesterday, (Saturday) we were supposed to have a work day at the church. It got cancled becuase of weather. Now, we always change our clocks back on the day of the work day. We didn't last night.I when I was still half asleep this morning, I thought I heard my younger siblings talking about changing the clocks. I looked at the clock. It said "8:00." I rarely sleep that late, so the next thought that went through my head was "They've changed the clocks an hour forward, instead of an hour backward. Thinking it was 7:00, I got up and changed all the clocks back two hours.
I was changing the clocks in the kitchen when Dad came downstairs. "What are you doing?" He said, "Daylight savings time isn't here yet!"
With a rather sheepish look on my face I went back upstairs to get ready to go to church in a half an hour, - instead of two and a half hours.
On my way back down the stairs, I tripped over a cat and fell. I caught myself on the railing, but smashed my head into the wall and left a sizable dent in the sheetrock. I went down to the bathroom to look in the mirror. My hair had a fine powder all over it, definitally requiring a shower before church.
Fortunately, I got my drivers license recently, and could drive myself up to church instead of going with the rest of the family.
I took a shower, and on my way out of the tub, slipped and fell, breaking my wrist. I managed to get to a phone to call mom at church. She wasn't impressed that now she had to take me to the hospital, because there was no way I was going to be driving myself there.
So, this morning I ended up in the emergency room with doctors and nurses all around me, taking X-rays, and setting my wrist, and putting a cast on it.
I'm having a completely awful and backwards day. Where's the kleenex?
