Math Tutoring Service
The Problem Site's Douglas Twitchell offers math tutoring in high school math subjects, including Algebra, Geometry, Trigonometry, and all Pre-Calculus topics.
Online Math Tutoring
The Problem Site's administrator is currently developing a new application to facilitate
online math tutoring. This browser-based flash application allows both the student and the tutor to chat (using an interface very similar to Facebook's chat) as
well as draw on a sketchpad, using basic pen options (freestyle drawing, eraser, line, circle and rectangle tools, and point labeling).
Soon there will be a demo of this application available for parents and students to try out. Doug highly recommends getting the Bamboo Fun Pen and Tablet by Wacom as a valuable
accessory to get the most out of your online tutoring time. Click here to read more about the pen.
33% Off - Limited Availability! During the coming months we will be offering reduced-rate online tutoring services to selected students, as part of the testing process for the web application. If you
would like to be considered for this reduced rate, please send an email to dtwitchell@virtu-software.com. Please include your name, location, and subject being studied. Also, please indicate how many sessions you hope to have, over the course of what period of time.

About The Math Tutor
Douglas Twitchell is a math and science teacher who lives in South Paris, Maine. Douglas has a B.A. in Mathematics from the University of Maine. He has been an award winning mathematics competitor both in high school and in college, and currently
is a math competition problem writer and proofreader for various mathematics competitions.
Douglas is also the designer of the "Sketch & Chat" application, which is used for online math tutoring on this site.
During the summer months Douglas spends most of his time as a camp pastor at various camps around the state of Maine. This limits his
availability for online tutoring, but if you are willing to have a flexible tutoring schedule, it may be possible. Don't hesitate to ask!
During his free time, Douglas loves hiking. He is pictured above sitting on top of Singepole Mountain in South Paris, Maine, on the Ides of March.
Equipment

If you are planning to get online math tutoring, you want to get the very most out of your teaching time, which means you don't want to be wasting time
sketching with a mouse. For this reason, Doug strongly recommends getting the Bamboo Fun Pen and Tablet by Wacom.
This device functions like a mouse - except it's a pen! You'll be able to write on the sketchpad with the same relaxed comfort of a pen or pencil, instead of trying to draw diagrams and complex equations with a mouse!
