Reference Units are primarily of value to teachers (and parents) who want to create content for their students to read and answer questions online. However, if you are not a teacher/parent, but have expertise that you would like to share with the wider educational community, creating a reference unit is an excellent way to give to teachers and students around the world who use this site.

A reference unit consists of one or more reference pages which are thematically similar.  For example, a reference unit about New England might have six pages - one for each of the New England states.  Each page can contain text and images, as well as a list of questions and answers related to the reading. When visitors view your reference pages on the site, they will see the questions, but not the answers. Answers will be accessible to teachers who have assigned the unit to their students.
