About Slick Math
During my senior year of high school, I had a math teacher who essentially "set me loose" in the classroom, encouraging me
to explore whatever topics I wanted to study. I spent much of my time solving math competition problems and brain teasers, as
well as writing math problems of my own.
My fascination with math problems is what prompted me to eventually become a Math Competition Problem Writer.
Many people don't realize how beautiful and elegant a math puzzle can really be. My goal in creating these pages was to introduce
people to some interesting math problems which have remarkably simple and elegant solutions and/or proofs. To understand the "Slick Math" problems,
you don't need any math background beyond high school math. In fact, with some of them, you don't even need any high school level math to understand the
problem and explanation.
Do YOU Have Any Slick Math?
Do you know any "Slick Math" problems? If you've seen a problem that would fit well on this page, you can email me: dtwitchell@virtu-software.com. Please
write a clear explanation of both the problem and its solution, using proper grammar and spelling.
Please remember that these pages are only for problems with simple and elegant solutions, that don't require advanced mathematics.
