On the new version, if I enter a word just as the clock runs out, instead of getting the message 'word must be at least 3 letters' like the old version, it instantly starts new game and I never get to see my score. Very frustrating. I also miss the "leave Game" option when the letter combinations just aren't there.

Hmmm...when the game is over, "Play again" is the default button on that message window, which means if you've pressed enter after that window shows up, it treats it as though you want to play again. So what you've described makes sense. I think we can fix that by inserting a time delay before the "end of game" window shows up.

There is a "Leave Game" option, although it may not look like what you were expecting; click on the gear icon in the lower right corner of the game window, and then click "Restart Game." Does that cover what you need?

Thanks so much for the bug report - We appreciate you taking the time to share ways of improving the user experience!

[edit]
Ah...the delay was already there, but the game lets you keep typing after the timer runs out, so I think that's what needs to be fixed.

Next time you play, please drop a note here to let me know if the end-of-game experience is improved. What you should see is that during the delay between the end of game and when the "game-over" window appears, if you try to type anything, you'll get a message saying that the game is over.

Suggestions to improve that are welcome!

Thanks for going to all the trouble to fix my problem. It seems to have helped, now I sometimes see the "Game Over" message which I didn't before. I have still had the restart situation sometimes, but maybe because I'm looking at the keyboard and don't see the "Game Over" I'm wondering how the High Score users keep from having the same problem that I do. Maybe they are better at typing and never look at the keyboard, only the screen. Thanks again

Yes, the very best players are never taking their eyes off the screen. My wife is one of the top players, and it's pretty crazy to watch her play!

Let me give some more thought to the issue; if the issue is that you're not seeing the game over message because you're not looking at the screen, I'm not sure if there's anything I can do to help resolve that, but I want to give it a bit more thought.

In the meantime, I'm glad this tweak helped some.
