New/Edit Problem

From the New/Edit command you can access the following configuration options for your problem.

Title
This is the title for your problem. Bear in mind that the directory of Pro Problems is filled with many different problems by many different teachers, and therefore, if you would like to share your problem, it will be helpful to have a somewhat creative title, so there won't be a lot of problems with the same title. For example, if your problem is a system of equations word problem about Horace going shopping, instead of titling your problem "System of Equations," title it something like "Horace Goes Shopping."

Description and Keywords
The description and keywords are optional; if you are not planning to share your problem, you can leave these blank. They are used to help other teachers (and students) find your problems. You can use the description field to give a description of the topic covered in the problem - for example: "Calculate the acceleration of an object, given information about the time it takes to go a certain distance." In the keywords field, give a list of words or phrases related to the problem topic, separated by commas - for example: "acceleration, distance, time, speeding up, physics, kinematics".

If the problem is published on the site, the site administrators will probably tweak these settings, so dont' worry too much about these if you are unsure what to enter.

Problem and Solution
Use the two text editor boxes to enter the problem and the solution. The solution will never be visible on the main site; it is available only to teachers who have assigned the problem to their students. Use the Equation Formatter to add mathematical symbols and equations to your problem and/or solution. Use the "Globe" icon in the toolbar to add images (if needed).

Add Media Files
If you have an image you want to make part of your problem (for example, a diagram for a geometry problem), click the button to add a media gallery for your problem, and then upload images. Once your images have been uploaded, you may insert them into your problem (or solution) using the globe button in the text editor.
