Writing Resources from Fifteen Minutes of Fiction

The following is a piece of writing submitted by TC on September 6, 2011
"The story is just a thought about who and what we are after viewing a spectacular event."

One Moment, One Morning

This morning I saw a shooting star. A brilliant green long streak that awoken wonder in my eyes and heart. I am blessed to have seen such a site at the very beginning of a new day. The birth of a day I think is more special and rare than the death of one, though a sunset is truly romantic and beautiful.

I happened to be looking in the exact right spot, if not then the remarkable thing would have passed unnoticed. It did not die in vain. Is that why I was there? At the right time, at the right location, looking at the right place...is that a miracle?

After a split second the green meteor was gone. I was awed at its silent self destruction and thought about where it may have come from and what brought it here.

It is part of us now. Part of this planet. The Earth is truly a living thing an organism itself no doubt but can that not be said of the solar system and in fact the entire universe?

The Earth recycles itself in the fault lines and volcanoes over long periods of time but the same could be said I think of the whole universe.

Time. We are here but a second, half second. Time.
