Writing Resources from Fifteen Minutes of Fiction
Spring Is in the Air?Long hours have I spent beneath the oak,
But now, at last, has sun the cloud-forms broke
in twain, and so arrives The Queen of Spring.
She dazzles with her form and decoration
( for flow'rs and feather'd birds do her bedeck),
And leads the world in dance and celebration,
and wears the sun in jewels 'round her neck;
And for this glorious entrance long awaited
is all my lonesome watching worth the while,
though Spring shall soon have all too quick abated,
she will, for weeks to come, my mind beguile.
So Spring upon her throne is so fulfilling,
that I can let her leave on time, full willing.
