Writing Resources from Fifteen Minutes of Fiction

The following is a piece of writing submitted by Cheri on March 2, 2008
"Just writing about another perspective...poem not according to mine!"

Gone

I guess you must be deaf, you never heard my last breath,
You didn't know what you had, till what you had finally left,
You lead me along, but I'm the one to blame,
I fell for your fraud, I climbed the undestined train,
I was a fool to believe Love was real,
What turned out a fake -left a wound that won't heal,
I remember the days you'd hold tight to my hand,
you carved a heart on the beach, but the waves washed the sand,
I fell in love with you, but you catching me was pretend,
Fairytales don't come true, by morning all dreams end,
I've wished on every star, but every star brought me tears,
and my dreams just keep whispering "Remember those years?",
I can't believe you're gone, my foundation caved in,
I ignored love so long, I can't believe I gave in,
But it is my fault, instead of choosing straight life I chose bent,
When you told me "I love you" was this what you meant?
After all that you've done, after all I've been through,
I must be insane, cause I'm still missing you!
