Tell Me Why?

Tell me why does a candle burn?
When it knows it is going to die!
Why do people love and yet never learn,
that all it does is make you cry!

Tell me why do night and day,
follow each other when they can never meet?
Why do we make new friends today?
As tomorrow the farewells won't be sweet!

Tell me why does a river leave its trace,
during a drought when it is completely dry?
Why don't we have the ability to erase,
the memories of the ones who no longer survive?

Tell me why should I move on?
They say its temporary; this suffering and pain.
But it will repeat and I am tired and drawn,
the hardest part of end is starting over again!
