First Line Writing Prompt
I thought the sirens would never stop blaringThe sheep just stood there mouths agape
Empty eyes just black and staring
Like the silence left behind
I thought the sirens would never stop blaring
The lights the mirror to my heart
Confusion overwhelming the glaring
Until there were no colors left
I thought the sirens would never stop blaring
The salty taste on my lips resides
The sole residue of a lifes caring
Streaming down my face
I thought the sirens would never stop blaring
The metal chills my skin to ice
Draining me of all my daring
Through the bottom of my feet
I thought the sirens would never stop blaring
Smells of rain on asphalt
Cleanse the night while wearing
Eroding any memory trace
I thought the sirens would never stop blaring
Now the silence eats within me
Like the lonely future left glaring
With only me left here
I never knew the fear of quiet
But now i feel the tearing
Disappointment yearns for when
I thought the sirens would never stop blaring
