Writing Resources from Fifteen Minutes of Fiction

The following is a piece of writing submitted by misssnoots on November 22, 2008

School Convo.

“Hey Beth, how is your senior paper going for Mr. Roberts class?”

“I’m afraid I can’t decide what side I’m on. After researching the death penalty I can see both sides equally.”

“Eh. Easy. You kill someone I love. I think you should die.”

“It’s not that easy Katie. Look at it this way. If you kill someone who had done wrong they really do not get punished. They just get the easy way out. On the other hand, if they are put in prison for life, without the chance of parole than they will suffer many years behind bars thinking about what they have done.”

“I guess I can see it more clearly when you put it in those words.”

“Thanks. I hope I can get my point across in this 24 page paper. Whoever thought about making us write this much, clearly needs the death penalty. Just kidding.”

“Your out there Beth.”

“You know you love me.”

*The girls giggle…*

“See you at lunch.”

“Later.”
