Writing Resources from Fifteen Minutes of Fiction
The following is a piece of writing submitted by stolen_water on December 4, 2007
"Much like everything I seem to be writing lately, this one is a bit vauge, but still does manage to display a cohesive theme. I attribute much of the inpiration for these lyrics to Poe's "The Tell Tale Heart." If you look closely, you will discover several references to it, as I utilized that story as a basis for illustrating my point. The underlying theme is simply the fact that "Your sins will find you out" and that despite what you do, there is no hiding from yourself and in the end your guilt will find you. It is open to other interpretations as well."
