Writing Resources from Fifteen Minutes of Fiction

The following is a piece of writing submitted by AnnabelRose on June 21, 2010
" (I tried to write this on a private account at first, but when I realized it was private I made this account. So don't sue me, old account.) I was feeling a little bit random today, thought I'd write about this. I remembered seeing this lady only a few years older than me, she looked very sad. I started a narrative about her in my head on the plane, and even wrote down part of it. There was something so gripping about her sadness, she almost looked agonized to me. I've been this woman before (in a sense), so I implore you to rate and comment!"

A Love Letter To....

It's cold here. So cold and bright. I look out the windows at departing planes and wonder if you're in one of them. If you're even coming to meet me here at all. A girl with a bright pink suit case skips by me innocently, her little black pigtails waving goodbye to her Grandma at the gate.

I remember when I was that little, and when you didn't matter to me because I didn't know you. I always knew there was someone out there waiting for me, but I didn't dream that they'd be so unreachable. The first time I saw you, I was playing games with my friends. You were talking to someone else, but our eyes met on accident. My whole face got hot, I almost forgot where I was. You looked away suddenly, but the feeling was still there. And I was okay with that.

Now I'm waiting for you in an airport, hoping you'll show up...but I know you won't. Why does love make me stay here and wait for someone that won't show? You know that if you don't show up I'm going to fly without you. I'm going far,far away from you. I'll meet a wonderful man wherever I'm going, and we'll get married and have children. And I'll forget all about you. Everything about you.

It's still not that simple though. Even if you don't show up, I'm going to stay here. I won't leave without you. I'll wait all day and all night for you to come meet me. We'll go away and live happily ever after, and my dreams will come true. Until you can come away with me, I'll just be here waiting for you.

...Always.
