Not Your Average Garden

I didn't think it was possible but one night I wished I could grow a money garden. I got up at six in the morning and planted some seeds and naturally it rained. I went to work and came home to a garden full of cash. It grew and grew. I picked the crop and put the money in an account I had. My husband never looked out back so I didn't tell him.
I decided to buy tickets to a cruise. My husband was suspicious but he went and we had a ball on the Royal Caribbean. We played shuffleboard, dined in fancy restaurants on board, danced to Kool and the Gang, and relaxed by the pool for hours. He was so thrilled.
"What's next?" He asked on the return flight home.
"I am going to garden and garden and go to the bank." I said, telling the truth.
"No, I mean trips and what else?" My husband looked like a child, a hungry child.
"I guess we will go shopping for tools." I said awkwardly.
"How about tools and jewelry? I love tools and jewelry."
"Sounds like a plan to me."
We spent and spent. I tended the garden with love and every evening there was ripe cash to be picked.
In the bank, there was a million dollars. I decided to get a new car.
One day I was counting the money before I went to the bank, my husband caught me.
"Are you a drug dealer?"
"Look outside." I was tired of his whining.
"Nothing but your garden."
"You don't see anything like money hanging from the vines?"
"Nothing. Hey give me some of that money. I want to go to In and Out Burger."
I gave him a hundred dollar bill. I was shocked that he didn't see the money growing outside but he saw the money on the table. I shrugged and kept counting. Just another cross I must bear alone, I thought.
