Faith and Seeds
Tears fall down my cheeks as I try to sleep.The clock beeps;
it's 4 A.M
I shove the blankets off,
and fall on my knees.
Mama always taught me right from wrong;
she told me to ask Him for help in times of need.
I needed Him now;
I wanted Him here with me.
I clasp my hands in humble prayer
and say my usual jolt,
Please bless my family, friends and help me to sleep.
I end my prayer with a silent Amen,
and stand to sleep again.
I stop in mid-air and realize that He's not there,
He got sick of hearing the same thing said by me.
I kneel down to begin again and start my prayer.
I ask forgiveness for all I've done,
and tell my Lord I'm sorry,
I pour my heart into my words,
which isn't very easy for me.
I tell my Father
I'm having trouble with the emotions inside me;
they're too much
I tell Him;
I ask Him to take them from me.
I talk slowly,
and think of what I'm saying,
and soon I'm crying,
as a weight lifts, the weight of the world,
from my shoulders,
and I feel the world's pain no more.
I know it will be back;
it is my burden to bear,
but it is nice to know
that when the burden becomes too much,
I have a Father and friend who will be there.
It is always nice to know someone is there
if I'll take the time to talk to Him,
He'll answer back.
