Paper Craft: Cross with Stand

After creating a cross (you can find cross instructions here: Cross Craft), you might want a small stand to insert it into. This craft template provides that stand. The template also includes a cross, which is slightly different from the other cross template; this cross has a longer upright piece, so it can be slid into the base.

Instructions

  1. Print the printable template on cardstock (scale the print size for smaller or larger crosses)
  2. Using scissors or a knife, cut along the outline of the two pieces.
  3. Use the redline template to identify which additional lines need to be cut (red).
  4. Before gluing the base, complete the cross according to the instructions on the Cross Craft page, and verify that the upright will slide through the hole in the base. If it does not, trim around the hole in the base to make it larger.
  5. Using your knife, carefully score (but do not cut through) the remaining lines which have not yet been cut.
  6. Fold each scored line.
  7. Using your craft adhesive, glue all the tabs under the adjacent pieces.
  8. Optional: If you are concerned about your cross tipping over, you can insert small weights through the hole in the top, or put them in prior to gluing the bottom in place.
