"This post is a Grab Bag which uses the following words: wino"

Life Changing Event

He was a wino. He lived under the bridge and slept on an old mattress. Todd wanted to be an actor but there weren't any roles for an old man who had been living on the streets for ten years.
Todd decided to look for food on Rodeo Drive. He found a whole snickers bar and a half-eaten salad. He had a delightful meal in the alley.
He hated being a wino. Back in 76', he was a disco dancing freak in Las Vegas. He had more women that he could shake a feather at. Now he was so lonely that he adopted stuffed animal that was in the trash. He called the monkey, Greg. Greg's mouth was a smirk and one of his eyes was crooked. Greg was a great companion. He didn't tell Todd that he stunk or that he was a waste of life. He just was there. Being there meant the world to Todd.
One day Todd decided to apply for a job at a gas station as a clerk. He knew he wouldn't get it. The clerk smirked and gave him an application.
"Good luck." The clerk rolled his eyes toward heaven.
Todd went in the gas station a week later to take a bathroom break from pacing. The clerk sighed.
"The manager couldn't reach you but you got the job."
"Huh?" Todd blinked in disbelief.
"Clean yourself up and come back tomorrow at about nine in the morning so I can train you." The clerk handed Todd a work shirt and a pair of clean white socks.
Todd grabbed the clothes then smirked. "I have been wearing these pants with skid marks for six months ."
"When you come in tomorrow, I will have a pair or two of pants for you to try on."
"Thanks.
"Don't thank me. I ain't the boss."
