"There is a metaphor that I left unwritten here. Originally I was going to have a second stanza that spelled out the metaphor, but decided it would seem like beating the reader over the head with it.

Besides, I like this very succinct version of the poem."

Tiny Daffodil, Mighty Oak

The springtime world's a strange and wondrous place,
Where - from the winter's cold and binding yoke -
The tiny daffodil and mighty oak
Spring forth anew with equal speed and grace.
