Paper CraftTutorialsSpacers: 30º and 60º Spacer

This spacer is designed to create either a 30 degree or a 60 degree angle between two surfaces in your paper craft. Note that in this template there is an extra tab which is not needed; depending on whether you want to create a 30 degree or 60 degree angle you will cut off the tab that gets in the way of your joint.

Also, be sure to check out our instructions and templates for other types of spacers.

Instructions

  1. Print the printable template on cardstock (scale the print size for smaller or larger spacers)
  2. Using scissors or a knife, cut along the outline of the image. If you want to create a 30 degree angle, cut off the tab next to the longest rectangular face. If you want to create a 60 degree angle, cut off the tab next to the shortest rectangular face.
  3. Using your knife, carefully score (but do not cut through) the remaining lines which have not yet been cut.
  4. Fold each scored line to 90 degrees. The diagonals should be folded back, while the outer lines should be folded forward.
  5. Using your craft adhesive, glue the tabs behind the adjacent uprights.
  6. Glue the three bottom tabs to the bottom surface.
